My creative approach
An accessories designer since 2010, I chose to bring AI into the staging of my creations. Not to hide anything, but because I have always had more images in my head than means to make them. AI multiplies the possibilities.
Leslie Sulman, AI CREATIVE DIRECTOR
In a market where thousands of brands compete for the same attention, an independent designer has to be everywhere, always, with the same visual strength. AI gives me that capacity, without giving up my singularity. Every world I imagine, I can create.
The race for content has become relentless. A brand that doesn't publish disappears. But publishing en masse without vision is drowning in the noise. AI lets me feed that pace without ever sacrificing my artistic direction. What I see in my head exists. Immediately.
Fashion never stops, and the independent ecosystem even less so. A trend emerges, a piece is ready, a moment arises: you have to be there, now. AI gives me the creative agility that only the big houses with entire teams could afford. I am one. And I am there.
It all starts with a vision. World, mood, the emotion I'm after. Before touching a tool, I know exactly what I want to tell. AI doesn't replace this step — it depends on it.
Translating a vision into a language AI understands is a craft in itself. Every word counts: the scene, the light, the pose, the photographic style. The more precise the direction, the truer the result.
A structured workflow guarantees visual consistency from one image to the next, from one format to another. This isn't mass production — it's a method that preserves brand identity at every step.
Generate, look, start again. The first image is rarely the right one. I test dozens of variants before finding the one that matches the original vision exactly.
AI proposes. I decide. Every image goes through my approval: is the product accurate? Is the emotion there? Is it consistent with my world?
Once the direction is approved, I produce the format variations needed, whether for social media, the website or print. Always with the same standards, always true to the real product.
It isn't a tool that makes the difference. It's mastery of the prompt, the rigour of the workflow, and the ability to combine these models to maintain a coherent visual identity across every format.

The colours, materials and proportions of my bags are scrupulously respected in every visual. What you see is what you get. Always.
AI stages. It doesn't alter the product. No fanciful size, no invented colour, no detail absent from reality. The staging is creative. The product is true to life.
I say what I do. Every image on this shop created with AI is identified as such. Transparency isn't a constraint: it's a value.
My accessories are designed with the same care and the same creative standards as before. AI changes the staging. Not the creation. Not the identity.
AI in fashion provokes reactions. That's normal; every disruption does. Here are the remarks I hear most often, and the answers I give.
Two years ago, yes. Today, the best models generate images indistinguishable from a professional shoot. What ages quickly is the judgement. Not the technology.
I declare it explicitly, unlike thousands of retouched fashion photos with no mention at all. The real deception is silence. And my products are described accurately: real sizes, faithful colours, materials specified.
Every image is the result of hundreds of micro-decisions of artistic direction: the scene, the light, the mood, the pose, the avatar, the angle, the colours. Try it and tell me if the result looks like mine. AI executes. The designer is me.
It's precisely an AI creative director's job to make sure that isn't so. AI is a tool, like the camera, like Photoshop. What makes the difference is the vision of the woman using it. Two people with the same tool never produce the same result. That's where I stand out.
They said that about photo retouching in the 2000s. About online shops in 2005. About the smartphone in 2008. Some trends don't pass; they become the standard. Generative AI is one of them. We're only at the beginning, and the future is bright.
Trust in what, exactly? In an image? In a technique? In an intention? Images have always been constructed in fashion: retouched, staged, directed. AI is part of that continuity.
Building on this experience with my own brand, I'm developing LeslIA, an AI visual creation service dedicated to independent fashion & beachwear brands. Photos, videos, artistic direction: a new way to produce brand content, without a studio or photo set.
